Mulle kevät on aina uudistumisen aikaa, mun oma uusi vuosi ja uudistuminen lähtee aina liikkeelle keväästä. Talvella mulla on aina todella epäinspiroitunut olo, ja vaikka pidänkin talvesta, niin talvi vie niin paljon energiaa, ettei sitä riitä juuri muuhun kuin talvesta selviämiseen. Kevätaurinko on nyt herättänyt myös mun nukkuneen inspiraationi ja sen johdosta olen palannut myös leikekirjani ääreen.
Aloitin leikekirjani jo yläasteella, ja nyt kirja rupeaa olemaan jo melko täynnä, mutta en vain ole saanut ostettua tai aloitettua uutta. En tosin ole lisäillyt mitään leikekirjaani noin vuoteen ennen tätä. Viimeisimmän vuoden tai puolentoistavuoden aikana olen käyttänyt niin paljon pinterestiä, ettei leikekirjalle ole tullut käyttöä. Pinterest on niin kätevä, kun ei tarvitse tallentaa, tulostaa, leikata ja liimata kaikkea itse, mutta lopulta näytön selaileminen ei ole sama, kuin kirjan sivujen selaaminen. Uskon, että tulevaisuudessa tulen jatkamaan leikekirjan käyttöä yhä enemmän.
Mun ainainen inspiraationi nousee aina 50- ja 60-lukujen silueteista ja tyylistä, sekä Gossip Girlin Blair Waldorfin tyylistä. Katson paljon 50- ja 60-luvuille sijoittuvia TV-draamoja kuten The Hour, Grantchester tai Endeavour Morse, ja haen inspiraatiota juurikin näistä ohjelmista. TV:n lisäksi inspiroidun blogeista ja suosikki merkkieni tarjonnasta. Uusin inspiraationi lähde on Margo & Me blogin Jenny Cipoletti. Jennyn tyyli on myös 60-luvusta ja Pariisista inspiroitunut, ja hänen bloginsa täyttyy kauniista designer vaatteista upeissa valokuvissa. Suosikki merkkini inspiroivat minua sesongista toiseen, ja niihin sisältyy paljon merkkejä joihin minulla ei ole varaa, mutta onneksi inspiraatio on ilmaista. Suosikki merkkeihini kuuluu muun muassa Dolge&Gabbana, Gucci, Mulberry, Valentino ja RedValentino sekä hiukan edullisempia brändejä kuten Jack Wills, Sister Jane ja Ted Baker. Löysin juuri myös uuden merkin nimeltä Olive clothing ja ihastuin nettisivuilta löytyneisiin vaatteisiin.

For me Spring is the time of rebirth and new beginnings, my personal new year starts in the spring. In the winter I always feel very un-inspired. Although I like winter it really sucks all the energy out of me, so I feel like I don't have energy to do anything besides surviving. The spring sun has finally woken up my inspiration and I've dug up my my good old scrapbook.
I started my scrapbook when I was in middle school and the book is pretty full by now, but I just haven't gotten around being a new one. Actually, I haven't even used my scrapbook for a year or maybe year and a half, until now. For the past year I've been using Pinterest so much that I haven't found use for the good old scrapbook. Pinterest is so handy when you don't need to save and print and cut and glue all the pictures, just two clicks and it's there. But in the end, I feel like browsing a website is not the same as browsing the pages of a book. I think that in the future I'll continue to use my scrapbook more, just like I used to do a few years back.
I'm always inspired by the 50's and 60's silhouettes and style, as well as the style of Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl. I watch lots of TV dramas that take place in the 50's and 60's like The Hour, Grantchester or Endeavour Morse and I always look for inspiration from these TV shows. Alongside these shows I look for inspiration in blogs and the collections of my favourite brands. My latest source of inspiration is Jenny Cippoletti who writes the blog Margo & Me. Her style is inspired by the 60's and the Parisian style and her blog is filled with amazing photographs of gorgeous designer clothes. My favourite brands inspire me from season till season, and my favourite brands include several brands which I can't actually afford but luckily inspiration is free to everyone. Some of my favourite brands include Dolge&Gabbana, Gucci, Mulberry, Valentino and RedValentino and some of the more affordable ones like Jack Wills, Sister Jane and Ted Baker. I also just found a new brand called Olive clothing and I was really impressed by the clothes on their website.
